National parks are forever

And YOU can help ensure that they stay that way.
These iconic places inspire, amaze, and create lifelong memories for generations of Americans and hundreds of millions of visitors each year.
They preserve the beautiful landscapes and wildlife that call them home, and hold the stories of our shared history, from the birth of the nation to our landmark achievements. Parks are our shared legacy — a legacy we inherited and one that you help protect for future generations.
The National Park Foundation’s historic $1.25 billion fundraising initiative — The Campaign for National Parks — in collaboration with the National Park Service, is catalyzing solutions that keep America’s parks vibrant places.
And a dedicated community of over 470 park partner organizations is working collectively to raise an additional $3.5 billion by 2028.

The spirit of America is embodied in more than 430 national parks — in every state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.

National parks are a record of our shared cultural and natural history. They unite us, remind us of our past, and point us toward the future.

And they always beckon us.

Together with you, we can ensure that parks are here today, tomorrow, and in the future.

Our Shared Legacy

Nowhere does the story of America— and the spirit that defines it — come to life more vividly than in our national parks.

In 2026, our nation will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

As we approach this milestone anniversary, we celebrate the idea that national parks embody quintessentially American values.

The historic moment, America 250, provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to unite Americans in support of our national parks.

America's Best Idea
As a champion for the "nation's best idea," the National Park Foundation is a force multiplier. Our unique position – working collaboratively with the National Park Service and park partners - enables us to deliver impact nationally like few other organizations can.
Our success as stewards of our national parks comes from remarkable teamwork that brings together:

A unique government agency
National Park Service (NPS)
NPS has been entrusted with the care of our national parks since 1916. NPS safeguards these special places and shares their stories with more than 300 million visitors every year.
A national nonprofit organization
National Park Foundation (NPF)
NPF is the official nonprofit partner of NPS, enriching America’s national parks and programs through the generous support of private citizens, foundations, and corporate partners.
Park partners
Park partners from across the country
More than 470 park partners across the country team up with NPS and NPF to support and execute projects and programs that are as diverse as the parks and people they support.
and generous donors
You!
You and other visionary donors who care deeply about the future of our national parks.
